Comedy-drama ‘Peggy Sue Got Married’ is being screened tonight as part of the Jim Carrey retrospective at la Cinémathèque française.

The 1986 comedy-drama stars Kathleen Turner as a woman on the verge of separating from her husband who finds herself thrust back in time to the days of her senior year in high school where she is given the chance to change the course of her life.

The film, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, gave Carrey his first major role in which he played alongside Nicolas Cage, Helen Hunt, Joan Allen and Sofia Coppola, whose fame also rose considerably in the years that followed its release.Quote_transparent
