Etienne de Crécy is, of course, best known for his super-size rubik’s-cube-on-acid light shows. His work is firmly shaped in the classic French mould of smooth techno based around some seriously greasy bass-lines and elevating 4/4 beats. It comes as no surprise that he even went to the very same college as Air and Alex Gopher, with whom he later went on to create the ‘Solid’ label.

His album ‘Super Discount’ (1996) is even touted as many as being the first of the so-called ‘French Touch’ scene that went on to sprout artists including Daft Punk and Cassius.

Tonight he plays out a DJ set at the recently re-opened La Machine.Quote_transparent
