You can do so many things with vegetables these days. The versatile little eddibles can be boiled, fried, baked or blended into all kinds of wierd and wonderful concoctions. The bright sparks, however, that make up Vienna’s Vegetable Orchestra have entirely different intentions for them.
Apparently sophisticated sound technology transforms them into audible sound generation bodies that are performed as part of a contemporary composition. Prepare for fanfares of pepper-trumpets and cascading arpeggios from the radish- xylophone.
They play tonight at the Centre Pompidou as part of the 5th edition of Hors Pistes.
