DESCRIPTION:12Mail\n12 Rue du Mail\n75002 Paris\n\n\nThough often pegged as
a "designer"\, New York-based artist Elisabeth Arkhipoff shakes off the at
-times restricting boundaries of design\, approaching her commercial work a
s an inquisitive artist and creating pieces for labels such as Swarovski an
d Anna Sui and musicians like Dirty.\n\n\n	Her installation "No Soda No Fun
" (which featured typical teenage sayings and slogans sprayed onto white ob
jects) was turned into the basis for a DJ Mehdi music video\, in which she
and street art legend Futura 2000 recreated the piece.\n\n\n	For 12Mail's s
econd exhibition\, the curators present the next installment of artist Arkh
ipoff's fictional band Sport Hit Paradise\, which she created in Tokyo in 2
 004. Complete with songs\, a website and fanclub\, the "band's" latest outp
ut "You in Me" documents the creative process via drawings and collages and
is\, naturellement\, accompanied by a limited edition album release (featu
ring collaborations with Munk\, Villeneuve\, Pilooski and more).\n\n
